When her previous European/UK deal was up, Janis began looking for a new affiliate, someone who'd treat the catalogue as something new, and give it a fresh breath of air. She found her match in DMG (Demon Music Group), the home base for many of her friends. The first thing they did together was decide to put out "packages" - "twofers" and "threefers" - so Janis' entire catalogue could be available and affordable again. With all the technological improvements of the past decade, their next decision was to re-master absolutely everything, yet again. Last, with the cooperation of photographer Peter Cunningham and fans who sent images they'd collected over the years, plus project manager Val Jennings' beautiful prose and Janis' recollections, they completely re-packaged all the albums to include new liners and archival photographs. We are extremely proud of these sets, and happy that with DMG's cooperation, we can offer them here!
From Janis: The first set we created was Between the Lines coupled with a DVD of my appearance on Old Grey Whistle Test in the 70's. At that time, I was struggling to become a viable act in Europe, going back every six months and hammering at the doors. While "At 17" was a hit in the US, it never went anywhere overseas. Still, it was big enough in America that Old Grey Whistle Test booked me. I'd never seen the show before we put it together here - not bad, if I do say so myself!"
